Many of our clients suffer from dental grinding (bruxism), migraines and excess sweating (hyperhidrosis) which can be treated with Botox/Dysport. All clients considering these treatments are first assessed by our medical director to ensure they're appropriate for the treatments, then treated by one of our nurses where appropriate.


Treatments are frequently covered by private insurance (not OHIP) and our staff are familiar with working with insurance companies to increase the likelihood of successful insurance claims.

Our Medical Director ensures every client receiving these services is medically appropriate prior to treatment. Often these are covered by private insurance and our staff can assist with this paperwork. You're welcome to refer yourself in to our clinic for Botox Medical treatments.

Migraine

Bruxism and TMJ

A small dose of Botox is precisely injected into your masseter muscle—the large muscle responsible for moving the jaw. 


This treatment relaxes the muscle, thereby reducing involuntary jaw clenching and teeth grinding that characterize these conditions. In just a 30-45 minute session, you can start experiencing relief, reducing wear and tear on your teeth while alleviating associated pain. Hyperhidrosis

Hyperhidrosis, or excess sweating, can be a distressing condition. At Waterloo Medical Cosmetics, we offer a viable solution through our Botox treatments. By injecting Botox into the affected areas, we are able to temporarily block the chemical signals from the nerves that stimulate the sweat glands. With these signals disrupted, the excessive sweating ceases. 


Primarily used in the axilla (armpits), the effects of this treatment typically last between 5-7 months, providing substantial relief for our patients. The entire process takes between 30-45 minutes. 


Note: We also offer direct invoicing to insurance companies for medication costs when needed.

    This consultation involves a 360-degree assessment with one of our cosmetic nurses and a medical aesthetician. 


    However, if you have a referral or any medical reports relevant to your treatment, feel free to bring them along to your consultation.
